Suhye of the girl group Madein has announced a temporary hiatus due to personal reasons. On the 14th, her agency, 143 Entertainment, released an official statement stating, "Suhye will be taking a break for the time being to rest and recover. We ask for the fans' understanding as this decision was made for her to return in a better state." The agency added that they would provide full support to ensure Suhye has sufficient time to rest.

However, Suhye's hiatus comes amidst growing controversy surrounding the agency's CEO, who has been accused of sexual assault. Last month, former Madein member Gaeun held a press conference, revealing that she was sexually assaulted by the CEO in October last year. The lawyer of Gaeun stated that the CEO is being investigated for violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse.
During the press conference, Gaeun’s mother tearfully expressed, "I feel eternally guilty for not protecting my daughter. Such incidents should never happen again, and perpetrators must be removed from the industry and face legal consequences." She also called for a formal apology from 143 Entertainment and demanded the immediate termination of Gaeun's contract.
143 Entertainment has since denied the allegations, stating, "There are many discrepancies in the claims made by the member. We will cooperate fully with the investigation to rectify the distorted information."
Madein debuted in September 2023 as a seven-member group featuring former Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo. However, with Gaeun’s departure due to alleged sexual assault and Suhye now taking a break, the group’s future remains uncertain. Fans are expressing their concern for the members' well-being and hoping for clarity as the investigation continues.
