Broadcast on June 4 (local time), SEVENTEEN lit up the stage with a dynamic performance of “THUNDER,” the lead single from their fifth studio album HAPPY BURSTDAY. Opening with unique props like a public telephone and a defibrillator—symbolizing the group’s intention to connect with others and spark positive change—the stage unfolded into an electrifying display of sharp choreography and live vocal energy. The performance was further elevated by intense lighting and the group’s signature synchronized formations.

Host Kelly Clarkson, a Grammy-winning artist and the show’s namesake, introduced SEVENTEEN as “the ultimate K-pop performers,” noting, “Over the past decade, they’ve swept countless trophies at award shows worldwide and hold one of the best-selling K-pop albums of all time.”

“THUNDER” is also gaining traction on global music charts. The song recently debuted on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. rankings and landed at No. 12 on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100. Domestically, SEVENTEEN clinched first place on MBC M’s Show Champion, kicking off another round of music show wins.

Their new album HAPPY BURSTDAY is already proving to be a commercial smash. It sold over 2.52 million copies in its first week (May 26–June 1), earning the highest first-week sales of any K-pop album released in 2025 to date. In Japan, the album swept Oricon’s Weekly Combined Albums, Physical Albums, and Digital Albums charts, underscoring SEVENTEEN’s powerful presence in the region.

With THUNDER resonating across borders and HAPPY BURSTDAY rewriting records, SEVENTEEN continues to cement their status as global trailblazers in K-pop.
