ITZY to Return with ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ on June 9 – J.Y. Park Makes Surprise Appearance in Trailer

ITZY is set to make a comeback with their new album ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ on June 9, marking their first release in eight months since ‘GOLD’ in October 2024.

On May 12, JYP Entertainment unveiled a dramatic trailer film and promotional schedule through their official SNS channels. The trailer, directed by Yu Kwang-goeng, presents a cinematic narrative depicting the members’ efforts to revive Ryujin’s stopped heart. The storyline is portrayed through a visually compelling drama format, showcasing each member’s emotional performance.

A highlight of the trailer is the surprise cameo by JYP founder J.Y. Park, who appears with a cassette radio in hand, adding a humorous touch to the otherwise intense atmosphere. Ryujin’s bold bob haircut and the striking visuals of Ye Ji, Yuna, Lia, and Chaeryeong further elevate the anticipation for ITZY’s upcoming concept.

The promotional schedule is packed with content leading up to the release. Tracklist drops on May 26, followed by concept photos from May 27 to 30, and an album spoiler on June 2. Music video teasers will be released on June 4 and 6, and on June 9 at 5 PM KST, ITZY will hold a countdown live broadcast to celebrate the album launch with fans.
