K-pop girl group fromis_9 is set to return this June with a brand-new album—their first release as a five-member group under their new agency, ASND. After ending their contract with PLEDIS Entertainment in December 2023, members Lee Chaeyoung, Park Jiwon, Song Hayoung, Lee Nagyung, and Baek Jiheon signed with ASND and reached an agreement to continue using the group name, fromis_9.

This comeback marks their first release in about six months since the special single “From,” and it represents a major turning point in the group’s seven-year career. The new album will showcase fromis_9’s signature summer energy while highlighting the refreshed dynamic of the five-member lineup.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the members shared their thoughts on the transition. Song Hayoung said, “I didn’t want anyone to feel the absence of the former members—we wanted the stage to feel full and confident.” Baek Jiheon described the album as having “a dreamy, ocean-like vibe,” while Lee Chaeyoung emphasized the group’s enduring bright energy. Park Jiwon spoke of the natural chemistry within the group, and Lee Nagyung expressed her wish to try band-style performances.
Originally formed through Mnet’s Idol School in 2017, fromis_9 has released hits like “Talk & Talk,” “DM,” “Stay This Way,” and “Supersonic,” the latter receiving international recognition from outlets such as Billboard and NME.
While navigating lineup changes, the group has maintained their popularity and presence. Members have also pursued individual activities, including fashion campaigns, acting, and public appearances. Now, with a new agency and renewed focus, fromis_9 is ready to welcome summer with their signature charm and a bold new beginning.
