Dreamcatcher’s First Unit ‘UAU’ (pronounced “You Are You”) Makes Official Debut with Mini Album

Unit group 'UAU' of Dreamcatcher explores a new sound and identity through their first unit project

Dreamcatcher members JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon have launched their first unit group UAU (pronounced “You Are You”), making their third career debut with the release of their mini album Playlist #You Are You on May 28. The group held a showcase at Ilchi Art Hall in Gangnam, Seoul to mark the occasion.

UAU is Dreamcatcher’s first sub-unit since the group’s 2017 debut and represents a fresh, personal direction. The name “UAU” reflects the message of self-acceptance and individuality, with music centered on emotional connection and relatability.

The album contains four tracks, led by the double title songs “2 Months” and “Attitude.” “2 Months” captures the longing for emotional alignment in love, while “Attitude” conveys a bold step toward personal growth. The album also includes “Sacrifice,” about the guilt of selfless love, and “Good Luck,” a message of farewell and support to a past partner.

With refined visuals and a more relaxed, genre-fluid sound, UAU  stands apart from Dreamcatcher’s darker, rock-driven concepts. Their performance of “Attitude” at the showcase demonstrated their veteran stage presence and musical maturity.

Originally debuting as MINX in 2014 and rebranding as Dreamcatcher in 2017, the trio now takes on a new identity with UAU. The members described this project as an opportunity to express who they truly are, both individually and together.

UAU aims to connect with listeners on a deeper level while exploring new musical territory. Their mini album Playlist #You Are You is now available on all major streaming platforms.
